Roof Cleaning

As time goes by our roofs are gradually taken over by mould.  This not only  makes it look unsightly, but is actually damaging the surface of your roof. 

On tiled roofs mould attaches itself to the surface, breaking its way through the surface coating and attaching its roots into the porous body of the tile. Left alone it will eventually weaken the tile by compromising the structural integrity of the medium.

On colourbond roofs these organics that attach themselves not only make the roof very slippery, but break down the protective coating of the roof sheets. Once this happens the sun's UV rapidly deteriorates the finish, causing a chalky look known as oxidation. This is the paint breaking down. 

The good news is with a professional clean we can eliminate further deterioration of your surface and bring back its lustre. 

High pressure cleaning of roofs is only reserved for the worste of situations. Instead we prefer a mild chemical solution and a medium pressure to rinse.

With the environment in mind we carry out or work in consultation with the owner/manager  ensuring that waster doesn't make it into the waterways. We do this in various ways such as redirecting back on to the lawns and gardens in a domestic situation. In a commercial or industrial situation it may be channelled through a site's waste water separator or by sandbagging drains and pumping back onto the property.

Don't let your blocked gutters become a flooded house. Blocked gutters can cause extensive damage to your property. This is even more of a risk living in the tropics where our annual rainfall far exceeds what our southern friends recieve or can even imagine. 

In some cases these days some insurance companies now want proof of gutter cleaning being conducted. 

Don't wait until your gutters are overflowing and we are getting daily totals of 150mm to get them cleaned. 

We recommend having them professionally cleaned on an annual basis and the best time of year to do so is towards the end of winter. By this time any trees should have dropped their leaves. Right before the warmer months come in and wet season starts. Not only is it the best time for you, but for us up on the roofs it is much more pleasant at this time of year due to the lower temperatures.
